When purchasing an apartment refrigerator you need to make sure the refrigerator will fit in the space you have intended it to go in. There are many different brands to choose from, so make your choice an intelligent one.

An Apartment Refrigerator that Doesn’t Take Up Space

Shopping Online Verses Shopping at Stores

I understand that shopping online is the way to go; it’s fast, it’s easy – it’s that simple. But when purchasing for appliances, having the product right in front of me just makes me surer of myself. If I’m going to spend that kind of money, I just want to make sure that I’m getting the best deal available to me right now. I want to get it and go.

The way I like to do it is look around online and see what’s out there. I write down the makes and model numbers of several different appliances with the price, then head out to Sears, Best Buy, Home Depot, etc. and see what they got. For this particular instance, I’m shopping for an apartment refrigerator to give to my brother before he heads back to college. His place is rather small so space is a major factor.

A Small Space Means a Small Refrigerator

I’ve been looking at several different major brands for an apartment refrigerator, such as Avanti, Sanyo, Whirlpool, and Danby. They’re all great brands, but it was a Summit product that caught my attention. The space I’m looking at is around 14 Cu. Ft. (not much to work with), so I need a refrigerator that takes up less space than that. It was a toss-up between the Summit refrigerator and an Avanti refrigerator. The Summit brand was classic white in color and the Avanti brand was stainless steel. The Summit unit is a two door cycle with defrost, refrigerator/freezer, and it was just under 24 inches wide and only 60 inches high. It has 10.1 Cu. Ft. inside, too. The Avanti unit is a two door full range temperature control, frost free refrigerator/freezer. It has 10 Cu. Ft. inside, just a tad smaller than the Summit brand. Both refrigerators had huge door storage and easy adjustable shelves. The Avanti, however, had many other extras the Summit didn’t have, when I thought about it, those extra features the Avanti had to offer wasn’t that important. The dimensions were slightly bigger on the Avanti compared to the Summit – but so was the price; about a 50 dollar difference. I noticed that both refrigerators had a full crisper, but the Avanti brands’ crisper drawer had a clear view with a glass lid. The Summit refrigerator, I think, was the best deal for the money.

Many Apartment Size Refrigerators to Choose From

The one thing about purchasing an apartment refrigerator is the many different brands and models to choose from. If I needed to get a top quality apartment size refrigerator, with extras that I might want, I think the Danby Bottom Mount Refrigerator would be the one for me. It’s a 9.2 Cu. Ft. unit that is less than 5 feet tall and is energy-star compliant.
